Andrei Buckareff

Professor of Philosophy, Marist College

Andrei A. Buckareff is a Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. His research focuses on metaphysical and epistemological issues in Philosophy of Action, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Religion.

Before Marist, he spent two years as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Buckareff received his PhD in Philosophy at the University of Rochester. His dissertation was directed by Richard Feldman and was on the problem of doxastic agency–i.e., what sort of control we can exercise with respect to forming beliefs.

He is also an Associate Editor of the journal Science, Religion, and Culture.

Prior to the University of Rochester he received an MA in Philosophy at Texas A&M University, and an MA in Theology at the Fuller Theological Seminary.
