William Dembski

Founding Senior Fellow, Center for Science and Culture, Discovery Institute

William Albert Dembski is an American philosopher and theologian. He is currently the Philip E. Johnson Research Professor in Culture & Science at the Southern Evangelical Seminary at Matthews, North Carolina, and a senior fellow of the Discovery Institute’s Center for Science and Culture.

Dembski is the author of a number of books about intelligent design, including The Design Inference (1998), Intelligent Design: The Bridge between Science and Theology (1999), The Design Revolution (2004), The End of Christianity (2009), and Intelligent Design Uncensored (2010).

Dembski completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at University of Illinois at Chicago, and received Master’s degrees in Statistics, Mathematics, and Philosophy from University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Chicago, and University of Illinois at Chicago respectively. He received a PhD in mathematics from University of Chicago and in Philosophy from University of Illinois at Chicago. Finally he received a Master of Divinity in Theology at the Princeton Theological Seminary.
