Katherin Rogers

Professor of Philosophy, University of Delaware

Katherin Rogers is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Delaware.

She holds a BA in Philosophy and History, Summa Cuma Laude, and an MA in Philosophy from the University of Delaware. Her thesis was entitled “A Comparison Between St. Augustine of Hippo and St. Anselm of Canterbury on Certain Problems Concerning the Freedom of the Will.” Rogers earned a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame with a dissertation “St. Anselm of Canterbury on Divine and Human Ideas.” She also received a PhD in Humane Studies at St. Anselm College in Manchester NH. Her areas of specialization are medieval philosophy and philosophy of religion, and she has done work in ancient philosophy, history of philosophy, ethics (including contemporary moral problems).

Rogers currently teaches at the University of Delaware. Her most frequently taught classes are Early Medieval Philosophy, Late Medieval Philosophy, and Great Western Philosophers.

She is a member of American Catholic Philosophical Association, where she served on the Executive Committee in 2005, and the Society of Christian Philosophers. She is also a member of the Board of Advisors, Institute for Anselm Studies at St. Anselm College.

Rogers is the author of three books including Anselm on Freedom, and has contributed articles to numerous prestigious journals like Faith and Philosophy, International Philosophical Quarterly, and Religious Studies
