Dirk Evers is Professor for Systematic Theology and Philosophy of Religion at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. He is President of The European Society for the Study of Science and Theology. He is also an ordained minister of the German Lutheran Church.
Evers studied Protestant theology at the universities of Münster and Tübingen and at the Tamilnadu Theological Seminary in Madural, South India. He received a PhD in Theology at Tübingen. He was pastor of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Württemberg and also was an assistant lecturer in the Faculty of Protestant Theology at Tübingen. Following this, he was named Director of Studies and Research at the Forum Scientiarum, Tübingen’s center for interdisciplinary studies.
He is the editor of the journal Philosophy, Theology and the Sciences and of the society’s Issues in Science and Religion.
