Art delights us, but how so and why? Art engages us, but to what means and ends? Can art be modes of discovery and generators of creativity that enhance understanding? Will art become a subset of science? Or can art see what science cannot? We explore art’s relationship with cognitive science, philosophy, neuroscience, history, theology, and religious practice. Art Seeking Understanding is a multi-year initiative of the Templeton Religion Trust.
