Jeffrey Mishlove

Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is a pioneering researcher and interviewer in the field of parapsychology and consciousness studies. He holds the only doctoral diploma in parapsychology ever awarded by an accredited American university — the University of California, Berkeley (1980) — with a dissertation examining systems for developing psychic ability.

From 1986 to 2002, Mishlove hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed series on public television throughout North America, conducting hundreds of in-depth interviews with leading thinkers on consciousness, philosophy, and science. In 2015, he launched New Thinking Allowed on YouTube, creating one of the most extensive public video archives on consciousness and psychic research, with over 1,500 interviews.

He is the author of The Roots of Consciousness (1975), Psi Development Systems (1988), and The PK Man: A True Story of Mind Over Matter (2000). In 2021, he won the $500,000 Grand Prize in the Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies essay contest for his paper “Beyond the Brain: The Survival of Human Consciousness After Permanent Bodily Death.” He currently serves as Co-Director of Parapsychology Education at the California Institute for Human Science.
