Acharya Prashant is the founder of the PrashantAdvait Foundation and a teacher of Advaita Vedanta, the Indian philosophy of non-dual self-inquiry. His teachings on the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, and the nature of the self have made him one of the most widely followed wisdom teachers today, with his primary YouTube channel alone surpassing 60 million subscribers and a combined following across platforms of over 100 million.

Born Prashant Tripathi in Agra in 1978, he studied at IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad before turning to full-time teaching. He is the author of more than 160 books, including Karma: Why Everything You Know About It Is Wrong, Ananda: Happiness Without Reason (HarperCollins, 2022), and, most recently, Truth Without Apology: For Those Tired of Sweet Lies (HarperCollins, 2025). He is also a prominent advocate for animal rights and climate action — named PETA India’s “Most Influential Vegan” in 2022 and featured on the Watkins list of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People.
