Dean W. Zimmerman is a Distinguished Professor of philosophy at Rutgers University specializing in metaphysics and the philosophy of religion.
Zimmerman received his Bachelor’s degree from Mankato State University in French, Philosophy and English. He went on to receive an MA and PhD from Brown University. He taught at the University of Notre Dame and Syracuse University prior to joining Rutgers University. Zimmerman is a Christian and a member of the Society of Christian Philosophers.
Zimmerman is the author of more than 40 scholarly articles, and the editor of many books: Metaphysics: The Big Questions, The Oxford Handbook of Metaphysics, Persons: Human and Divine, Contemporary Debates in Metaphysics, and The Oxford Studies in Metaphysics series, and The Oxford Studies in Philosophy of Religion series.
