Markus Gabriel

Philosopher

Markus Gabriel is a German philosopher. After dedicating his doctoral thesis to the German idealist Schelling, he went on to teach at the New School for Social Research in New York, at the University of Bonn, and at Berkeley, California.

A specialist in the theory of knowledge and contemporary philosophy, he advocates the idea of a “new realism” and claims a desire for a rupture in the history of thought in order to better understand the singularity of our era.
