What is free will? Do we have free will? After many centuries of debate by many great thinkers, can we still make progress? That’s the goal of the Big Questions in Free Will Project, a unique, multi-discipline, multi-year study. In Part I, cognitive scientists, neuroscientists, and philosophers research, test, and advance thinking on free will. In Part II, experts discuss the psychological, social, and moral aspects of free will, and consider how free will affects our lives and structures our societies. In Part III, philosophers ask how God (if there is a God) can have free will if God’s choices are bound tightly by God’s nature. One need not believe in God to appreciate the puzzles.
