Does what we discover in science reflect what really exists in the world? Can science access external, independent, ultimate reality? “Realists” say yes; “anti-realists” say no. Can we discern the ultimate reach of human knowledge? Clearly in science, but also, potentially, in theology. That’s what “critical realism” attempts to do.
